Why Phoenix Families Fence the Pool
Arizona has more backyard pools than almost anywhere, and a fence is the simplest layer of protection between young kids and the water. It's often required, too. If you're buying, building, or have little ones at home, your city may expect a proper pool barrier.
With a self-latching gate, kids and pets can't wander to the water on their own.
We match your city's rules on fence height, gap size, and gate hardware.
Open pickets let you watch swimmers from the kitchen window or the patio.
Powder-coated steel stands up to pool water, sprinklers, and summer heat.
Pool Fence Options for Phoenix Backyards
Metal Pool Fence
Flat top steel is our most popular pool barrier. It’s strong and see-through, and there are no finials for little hands to climb.
Pet-Friendly Pool Fence
Extra pickets along the bottom, often called a puppy guard, close the gaps so small dogs can’t slip through to the water.
Self-Closing Pool Gates
Gates that swing away from the pool, close on their own, and latch up high, out of a toddler’s reach.
Custom Pool Fence Installation Across Phoenix
Pool barrier rules in Arizona generally call for a fence at least 5 feet tall, openings under 4 inches, and gates that close and latch on their own. But Phoenix, Mesa, Scottsdale, and other cities each have their own version. That’s why we build every pool fence in Phoenix to the code where you actually live, so it’s ready for an inspection, a home sale, or an insurance check.
- Built to your city's pool barrier code
- Barrier heights of 5 ft and up
- Picket spacing under 4 inches
- Self-closing, self-latching gates
- Gates that swing away from the pool
- Puppy guard pickets for small pets
- Removal of old or failing pool fencing

Phoenix Pool Fence FAQs
The questions homeowners ask us most before fencing in a pool.
Is a pool fence required in Phoenix?
In many cases, yes. Arizona and most Valley cities have pool barrier rules, especially for homes with young children, new pools, or a recent sale. Because the details differ from city to city, we check the requirements for your address and build to them.
How tall does a pool fence need to be in Arizona?
Most Arizona rules call for a barrier at least 5 feet high, with no openings a small child could squeeze through. Some cities also add rules for house walls or doors that face the pool. So we confirm your local code before we quote.
What kind of gate does a pool fence need?
A pool gate should close by itself, latch on its own, and swing outward, away from the water. The latch also needs to sit high enough that a toddler can’t reach it. And if it ever stops latching because of how it was installed, our 36-month warranty covers it.
Can my existing wall be part of the pool barrier?
Often, yes. A block wall or tall fence can form one or more sides of the barrier, as long as it’s high enough and has no footholds. We’ll look at it during your video estimate, and then we only add what you actually need.
Can my dog squeeze through a metal pool fence?
Small dogs sometimes can. However, adding puppy guard pickets along the bottom closes those gaps. It’s a small upgrade, and we recommend it for most pet owners.
How much does a pool fence cost in Phoenix?
The price depends on the length of the barrier, its height, the number of gates, and the gate hardware. Since most pool fences are a fairly short run, they often cost less than people expect. A 15-minute video call gets you an exact quote, and monthly financing is available too.
